At the end of April you prayed for an urgent health need.  Our worker thanks you for the prayers and reports that the health issue is much better–another surgery and still slow mending but no cancer.  Continue to pray for her as she as on the field and away from family and that her Dad in the states will continue to heal well.

‘No man is an island . . . ‘– This famous quote by John Donne, a Christian who lived during the Renaissance era, reminds us that in addition to God we need each other.  There are sometimes when it seems we stand alone, but even then there are many influences along the way who contributed to who we are and what we have become.  This past Wednesday morning, my youngest grandson Will, stood by himself on a stage after winning his school’s spelling bee; however, his parents and teachers had helped along the way to prepare him for this special time.  AND of course, God blessed him with a good memory.  We all need each other as we walk our journey on this earth.  I’m reading...

As we have focused on Relationships this month, I’ve learned a lot about what God expects as we relate to Him and how our human relationships don’t just happen by accident – God has placed people in our lives for a purpose.  Some relationships last a long time and others are short, some are very special and others are challenging, some are healthy and others fragile.  This past Friday night, as I watched the athletes from so many different countries and cultures enter the Olympic Stadium in London, I couldn’t help but think of the relationships that so many of these young men and women will renew and begin during these next few weeks – some will last for a life time...
