‘Practice makes perfect . . . ‘–  As a young girl taking piano lessons, my teacher would always remind me of the importance of practicing each week between lessons and not to give up even when I became frustrated and struggled with the music.  She encouraged me to keep practicing and that in time I would ‘play it perfect’.   I recently read a devotion from Streams in the Desert that reminded me of the importance of never giving up and being persistent until the goal is achieved.  This story was told by Tammerlane from The King’s Business: “I was forced to take shelter from my enemies in a ruined building where I sat alone for many hours.  Desiring to divert my mind from...

Do You Know God is Patient?

PATIENT A quote from the book entitled “Love Dare” by Stephen & Alex Kendrick, says, “When you choose to be patient, you respond in a positive way to a negative situation.  You are slow to anger.  You choose to have a long fuse instead of a quick temper.”  Put another way, being patient means you give the other person more time than you think they deserve to do the right thing in a situation.  God is patient!  In scripture we see God being patient with people in their sin and for their salvation.  We also see that God expects us to be patient with people and patient in pain.  Unlike God, we aren’t naturally patient, so thankfully, as believers we have the power of...
