Call to Prayer for June 27, 2017

‘Fruit of the Spirit is …Patience’ (Thoughts shared by Susan Bragg, Associational WMU Director for the Savannah Baptist Association.) I want to share with you a photo of my grandson walking in the marsh. He is walking very carefully with a great deal of patience. His step is deliberate, I admire his determination to go forward in unknown waters. Can we always know where our feet will take us especially when we cannot see clearly the map or plan? Often times we are not certain of our next footstep in life but when we stop and call on Jesus to guide us, He is there for you and me.  Our faith leads us to study His Word, pray constantly and serve and sharing His amazing...

Call to Prayer for June 19, 2017

‘Fruit of the Spirit is … Patience’ (thoughts shared by Peggy Jo Boyles, Georgia WMU Regional Endowment Consultant) – Romans 8:25 states, “But if we hope for what we do not have yet, we wait for it patiently.” (NIV) For the last couple of months, I have been pondering the patience of God and I cannot seem to wrap my mind around it.  It perplexes me, but why?  Our God is above anything we can imagine or realize. Looking back, I was probably not much fun to be around. Most of my wrath was directed at other people and what I perceived to be their inefficient use of my time. I was not much of a grace giver. Thank God that patience is part of the fruit of the Spirit! What I could not muster...

Call to Prayer for June 5, 2017

‘Fruit of the Spirit is … Patience’ (thoughts shared by Daphne Youngblood, Support Staff for Georgia WMU/WEM) – The fruit of the Spirit we will focus on for June is Patience. Many of us pray for patience but do we realize that patience is not an answer to prayer but fruit that is produced by loving and obeying our Heavenly Father. I think we lack patience because we have a trust issue.  Do you trust God in your life, if not why? Let’s go to Genesis and look at the account of Sarah and Abraham and see if a lack of patience played a part in Israel’s future. Genesis 15:1-6 says, “After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am...
