Gifts are always nice!  For some reason, we don’t even hesitate to take the gift and begin tearing away the wrapping to see what’s inside.  Because it is coming from someone who cares for us, we know it will be something special.  God has many things He wants to give us, but sometimes we seem to hesitate to open ourselves up to receive them.  God wants to give us many things such as grace, mercy, love, peace, faith, and so much more. Do You Know God is the Giver of All Good Gifts?

Giver of All Good Gifts God loves to bless His children and He does it with excellence!  Matthew 7:11 (NLT) says, “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him”.  God, as our Father, knows what we need and gives us good things to fill those needs…ask Him.  We are also reminded in James 1:17 (NLT) that “Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens.  He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”  “Whatever” means everything from the smallest of beans to the greatest of abilities.  He has an amazing storehouse...

Gifts – we all like to give and receive gifts – birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, anniversary gifts, surprise gifts, gifts for no reason at all, etc.   These many gifts come from family and friends who love and care about us.  Sometimes, though, we have a problem receiving an extravagant gift from someone because we don’t feel we deserve it or maybe because of the cost, we know it was a great sacrifice for them.  We’ve all heard the phrase, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’.  Maybe this is why we sometimes feel we don’t deserve the gifts given to us.  James, the half-brother of Jesus, tells us that ‘every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father...
