‘Fruit of the Spirit … Faithfulness’ (thoughts shared by Daphne Youngblood, Support Staff for Georgia WMU/WEM) – This year we have been reflecting on and learning about Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” The simple definition for faithfulness is trustworthy and loyal. The opposite is disobedience.  We know that God is loyal and trustworthy but it seems that we have a tendency to be more faithful to what we think is important rather than what is important to God. Call to Prayer for November 25, 2013

‘Mind your manners! ‘–  As I was growing up I would hear this phrase often to remind me to use words such as ‘Please’ and ‘Thank You’.  These were words of respect that I was to use as I asked someone for something and responded with gratitude for something I had received.   So many times we have no problem coming to God with our wants and needs and we often say ‘Please’, but how often we forget to say ‘Thank You’.   We are reminded in James 1:17 that ‘every good and perfect gift comes from God’ – whether they be spiritual, physical, or material – and there are so many.   Years ago, I had a friend who always included in his prayers these words – ‘Thank You for all the...
