Call to Prayer for September 12, 2016

‘The Family that Prays Together…’ – Every year at this time we are reminded of how life can change in a moment.  Yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 (September 11, 2001).  I remember in the days that followed how our country joined together as one and our churches were filled to capacity with people praying and seeking God’s guidance and comfort – hoping to understand in some way what had happened.  I wonder why it seems to take a tragedy for us to turn our hearts to God.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever – nothing takes Him by surprise – He knows our past, our present, AND our future.  We can be comforted in knowing that He is in...

‘For these children I pray’ – I know pride can get us into trouble at times – but I am one proud grandmother! Ethan, my oldest grandson, received news this past week that he will be playing saxophone with the University of Georgia marching band when he begins classes this fall; Abigail, my 16 year old granddaughter, got her first paycheck from her first job this past week; Brooke, my 13 year old granddaughter, received Dancer of the Year award where she competed against 16, 17 and 18 year old girls ; Silas, my 11 year old grandson, received 10 honors awards at his school; and Will, my 10 year old grandson, won his baseball game on Saturday. These are children that I...
