Isaiah 45:5a says, “I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God”. There are so many attributes that separate the One True God from false gods. But the truth that our God is living…He hears, speaks, sees, takes action, and walks with us…definitely sets Him in a class all by Himself. No other god is living and active. Other gods are made from man’s hands and have to be taken care of by man. These gods can’t do anything for themselves or for others. They are dead! Jesus, the Son of El Chay, is also alive! Having been raised from the dead, He now sits at the right hand of God’s throne interceding for us. And we, too, are made alive in Christ as we come to Jesus for the cleansing of our sins. We pass from death to life and are promised life forever more!
Meditate on it, Pray it, Believe it—His Word is true.
God is El Chay
Joshua 3:7-13 (ESV) The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. And as for you, command the priests who bear the Ark of the Covenant, ‘When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’” And Joshua said to the people of Israel, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.” And Joshua said, “Here is how you shall know that the living God [El Chay] is among you and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites,… Jebusites. … And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”
1 Samuel 17:26 (ESV) And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God [El Chay]?”
Psalm 84:1-2 (ESV) How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Daniel 6: 25-27 (ESV) Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: “Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God [El Chay], enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end. He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, he who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”
Jesus is alive
Matthew 16:16 (ESV) Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
John 14:6 (ESV)Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Romans 8:34 (ESV)Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
Christ Followers are alive
2 Corinthians 6:16 (ESV) What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Sing for joy to El Chay…He is the LIVING God! He will endure forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end. He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth.
Praise Jesus…Christ, the Son of the Living God! He is the Resurrection, the Way, the Truth, and the Life! LORD of the dead and the living.
Thank El Chay that He listens to you, speaks to you, dwells with you, and walks with you!
Thank Jesus for dying so that you might live! Thank Him for having the power to conquer sin and death. Thank Him for interceding on your behalf.
What “Jordan waters” do you need El Chay to part for you? Talk with Him about it…He can hear your cries.
Who needs to be rescued and delivered from the bondage of human slavery? Pray for them.
Who needs to witness the mighty power of El Chay? Ask Him to perform signs and wonders that glorify Him.
Who needs to go from death to life through the resurrection of Jesus? Pray for them to hear and believe the Good News. Pray for an opportunity to share your testimony of your “death to life” experience with someone this week!
Who needs to know that El Chay is present with them? Pray they will know that He is alive, dwelling and walking with them.
Ask God to empower you to daily walk dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. And to know that because you have believed on the name of the Son of God you have eternal life! Ask Him to show you what that looks like in your everyday life…what difference it makes when you are going through your day. Can others tell you are alive in Christ?
To quote an old chorus…”God’s not dead, NO! He is alive! God’s not dead, NO! He is alive! God’s not dead, NO! He is alive…I feel Him all over me!!!” Believe it and sing it as you go about your day! He is ALIVE!
This is awesome. P
Thanks be to our GOD for His great love toward us as we soon celebrate Resurrection Day.
Jesus, thank you that you are THE RESURRECTION and THE LIFE! I do believe and am so grateful to you.
